President and Co-founder

George Potts is Co-founder and President of Fifth Influence. His experience in digital & social media marketing is substantial. For two decades, he counseled CPG companies, retailers, restaurant chains, healthcare concerns, technology enterprises, not-for-profit organizations and issue/political campaigns. An early adopter of social media technology, he remains engrossed in digital and emerging media and its ongoing impact on advertising and marketing, publishing and speaking frequently on the subject.

George teaches digital & social media analytics at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business and guest lectures at CMU, Duquesne and Point Park universities. Speaking engagements include Ad:tech, Digital Summit, HIRI, iMedia, Magnet and the AAF.

George resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife, Kathy, and is a recent empty-nester. Kathy is a first-grade teacher for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. His daughter, Kelsey, attends Syracuse University, balancing a mechanical engineering major with her commitment as a Division I athlete in cross country and indoor & outdoor track. His son Cameron goes to the University of Colorado, pursuing studies in astronomy and enjoying the outdoor recreational benefits of Boulder.

Co-founder and Partner

Mark Harris is a Co-founder and Partner at Fifth Influence. Mark runs advocacy programs for campaigns big and small in thirty-two states. Mark is one of the most sought-after consultants in the country, guiding campaigns across the nation including Marc Rubio’s super PAC and U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey’s re-election victory in Pennsylvania – the most expensive Senate race in U.S. history.

 A data and digital expert, Mark designed Sen. Pat Toomey's award-winning digital advertising program in his 2016 re-election.

In 2011, Mark co-founded Fifth Influence's sister polticial campaign consultancy - ColdSpark. Mark is a numbers-driven political analyst often burning the midnight oil pouring over the latest poll numbers. When he is not hopelessly rooting for his Pittsburgh Pirates, Mark is a national strategist, ad maker and grassroots expert.

Mark lives in Mt. Lebanon with his wife, Krista, and their three children, Abigail, Davin and Clare.

Co-founder and Partner

Mike DeVanney is the third Co-founder and Partner at Fifth Influence. He is a also a founding partner of ColdSpark. Mike provides strategic and communications counsel to elected officials, candidates for public office, trade associations, advocacy groups, not-for-profit organizations and Fortune 500 companies.

His client list is a who’s who of some of our nation’s leading politicians and thought leaders, including Reps. Scott Perry and Pennsylvania Speaker Mike Turzai.

Politics PA twice rated Mike as a “top operative” in 2012 and 2014. Mike is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants. He was elected delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention.

Mike is committed to the Pittsburgh community, serving as a board member for the AMD3 Foundation, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees, Carnegie Museum of Art, Jack Heinz Society, Central Catholic High School, the Thornburgh Forum for Law and Public Policy and the major gifts committee of The Pittsburgh Promise.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Mike resides in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh with his wife, Angela, and their daughter, Eleanor.
